Flood Repairs
As long time locals, we were devastated to witness the impact of the severe flooding which greatly affected the Northern Rivers, Tweed and surrounding regions.
Our services have being in high demand as we rebuild in a way that minimises future damage in an event of a flood.
Standard building uses a lot of porous building materials. Kitchens are usually made of particle board which is very susceptible to water damage. Plasterboard lines the whole house and is also very porous. Usually when there is a flood just these two elements alone are about 90% of the cost of the rebuild and can take months, or even years, to reinstate due to the volume of trades required for the rebuilding effort.
We recommend thinking outside the box for flood repairs. Things such as: lifting any electrical items such as aircon compressors, power boxes, data boxes, light switches to a height where they won't be affected; using stainless steel kitchens and benches; fibro instead of plaster or even brick and render; and changing floor coverings from laminate or carpet to polished concrete or tiles.
All of these things won't stop your house from flooding but can significantly reduce the cost and amount of time your house is out of service.
